Story

Namu continues praying as he dives toward the ring. His crossed arms soon come down on Gokuu's neck as the boy's friends stare in horror. Namu politely asks for the count and begins to explain that he is a devout Buddhist who would never take a life. But this technique does put one to sleep for 10 days. Nevertheless, Gokuu returns to his feet just before the ten count is up. He coughs and clutches his neck as everyone looks on in shock. Especially Namu, who believes he must have executed his technique incorrectly. But he says he won't fail this time and leaps high into the air again.

Namu has jumped much higher this time, and Gokuu decides to follow him with a giant leap of his own. This time Namu announces Super Aerial X Fist. He begins to dive toward the ring with crossed arms again, only to see Gokuu shoot past him further into the sky. Gokuu soon realizes he overdid it and dives down to Namu's level. An annoyed Namu swims toward Gokuu and swipes at him, but Gokuu avoids it by diving down further. Namu follows suit to pursue the boy as they both dart down toward the ring. Gokuu's descent is faster, so Namu crosses his arms again and believes he'll succeed this time. But Gokuu lands on his feet and catches Namu with a flying kick, knocking the man out of the ring. Gokuu has won the match and will now move on to the finals. Yamcha and Kuririn are excited for Gokuu, but Jackie is a bit concerned.

Continuity

The events of this chapter are depicted in Dragon Ball 25. This episode first aired approximately 10 months after this chapter was first published. There is very little anime-original material, other than extra commentary from Blooma, Oolong, and Puer.

Cast

There are also numerous other people, including spectators and Martial Arts Fest officials.

Setting

The events of this chapter take place at the World's Best Martial Arts Fest grounds, at the Fighting Stage and the area surrounding it. A lot of time is also spent in the sky above, and thus there are aerial shots of the rest of the Southern Capital as well.

This chapter takes place during Age 750, immediately after the events of the previous chapter.
